CNN Vault: Moments That Changed Us
Announced as a six-week experiment, on the day it ended.
CNN tokenised moments from its news archive and sold them through a marketplace of its own. On 10 October 2022 it announced the project was closing, describing it as a six-week experiment — a characterisation holders disputed, having bought in over a considerably longer period. Compensation was set at roughly 20% of the original mint price based on a snapshot taken four days before the announcement. Accusations of a rug pull followed, and some holders discussed legal action.
