X (formerly Twitter) Hexagonal NFT profile pictures

The most recognisable shape of the boom, removed without a word.

Twitter Blue subscribers could connect a wallet and display an Ethereum NFT as a profile picture, rendered as a hexagon instead of a circle. For a while the hexagon was the most visible signal of the whole boom, readable at a glance in any timeline. In January 2024 the feature was withdrawn: hexagons reverted to circles, no new ones could be set, and the support documentation stopped mentioning it. There was no announcement.

This was a platform or marketplace rather than one collection, so there is no canonical address to record. Rather than pick one and imply it stands for the whole thing, the field is left empty.

Every claim above traces to one of these. Where a company or regulator said it themselves, that is marked primary.
